Wow, I'm loving the atmosphere to this picture. Very dark and foreboding yet mysterious and adventurous by the way the light's peeking through the clouds and the guy trekking through the grass. I like the depth to the image, the way there is continuity with the mountains fading into the back. Not too much detail but enough that I can easily tell what it is. I like how you incorporated mist throughout parts of the piece. I quite like the textures of the grass and the sky, very nice. A suggestion I could make is where the lightning hits the ground, you can have a sort of glow just around that little piece, or even a small flame that may have broken out. It really adds a little extra personality..or flair to it, y'know One other thing is that the mountain on the right looks slightly odd to me. Not too sure what it is, but at first glance the burnt patches or scraped areas of brown are a bit distracting, the shapes etched into it are almost predictable in a sense..I hope that made sense Perhaps adding a few extra tones or adding to the texture would make it a little better. I quite like the look of textures on the mountain on the left. Nevertheless, I really like the composition and the varying shapes of the mountains. My eyes are able to run over the piece and enjoy the view I'm looking at. I especially like the composition because of the motion of the piece. There's breeze blowing, a storm overhead, so I can really visualize an actual scene occurring. I love the little guy in the corner, really gives the piece some life. I also quite like your speedpainting style.
Of course, I myself am no pro at this stuff. I'm still learning and learning by observation is very helpful, and I like giving my feedback and thoughts to others ^^
Wow, I cannot stop from commenting on this one. Great scenic value to this one, can't imagine what you would do with more time spent on a painting like this.
